Reaching LGBTQ+ Audiences and Fostering Inclusion

Michael Braunstein, the Director of Advanced TV at Effectv, recently sat down with Dr. Kryss Shane of MediaVillage for an honest conversation focused on authenticity, inclusivity, and all things LGBTQ+ Pride at Comcast Advertising. Michael highlights the importance of reaching LGBTQ+ audiences in meaningful ways and says,

The need for authenticity with marketing and the tactic of inviting the LGBTQ+ community into a brand, needs to be strategic and it needs to be genuine.

He highlights the need for marketers to consider that the LGBTQ+ community is made up of cognizant consumers who are intentional about the brands they shop as well as the organizations they’ll work for.

Michael knows a thing or two about fostering a culture of inclusion in the workplace as he leads the OUT@Comcast Advertising employee resource group which serves LGBTQ+ employees and allies in the New York, NY area across FreeWheel and Effectv. The group hosted drag bingo, networking and other events this Pride month!
